Daughters of Lam: Rachelle Dang & Jodie Lyn-Kee-Chow
April 24-May 30, 2021
Opening Reception: Thursday, April 29, 2021
6-8pm EST

With this collaboration, two artists of Chinese descent pay tribute to the early 20th-century Cuban Chinese painter Wilfredo Lam, who fused elements of Cubism and Surrealism with Afro-Cuban culture in his paintings, sculptures, and ceramic works. In this combined installation, Rachelle Dang and Jodie Lyn-Kee-Chow show works that incorporate landscape, history and fantasy - relying on their respective cultural backgrounds and experiences for tactile and visual inspiration.
