The current public health crisis and the time of social distancing has presented a divine opportunity for people to do some true homework- the work of self-care. So, Weeksville is doing a wellness check & live-streaming it into your home on Saturday, May 9, 2020 from 10AM-6:30PM, when Weeksville Weekends returns with Community-Care @ Home, a full day of online programs devoted to supporting community by sharing wellness practices and getting us moving together.
Get your heart rate up and your mind right with Vinyasa Flow Yoga with Carlos Barksdale (LUYA), Radical Self Care for Radical Times with Mariam Mouna (Mar) (I See You Wellness), Ma’at Pilates with Dyane Harvey-Salaam (Forces of Nature Dance Theatre Company), MediBellyMove™️ with Cashel Campbell, and TrapAerobics with Chavonne Hodges (GrillzandGranola) & Genail McKinley. Explore the practice of herbalism with Herbal Steams with Moon Mother Apothecary and create a mantra to manifest your desires with Manifesting through Mantras w/ Geminelle Rollins Malone and vibe out with a live performance of her recently released Mantra Loops Vol.1.

10AM - 11AM - Vinyasa Flow Yoga w/ Carlos Barksdale
A flowing one-hour session encompasses mindful breathing, strong movement, self-awareness.
11:15AM - 12:15PM - Radical Self Care for Radical Times w/ Mar
We are at the tipping point of major change on our planet, and there's SO much going on multidimensionally, but don't get me wrong, this change is very positive indeed, it's a blessing in disguise. This shift requires us to be armed with a hefty toolbox to care for ourselves holistically. Self Care and Community Care are obligatory in these times, we cannot move forward without them.
In this Energy Work session, Mar will share her perspective on current planetary energies and will share techniques to shield, cleanse and recharge our bodies: physical, emotional and energy bodies.
We conclude the session with a cleansing guided meditation and energy practice to release and recharge.
12:30PM - 1:30PM - Ma’at Pilates w/ Dyane Harvey-Salaam
“Pilates prepares you for the unexpected”: Kathy Grant, Judith Covan, Pilates Masters
It is a conversation between the breath, body, mind, and spirit. The breath is the facilitator, the body the tool, the mind is the guide, your spirit is the will to achieve. The balance of these elemental forces is one of the attributes of the Neter Ma’at.
Chronic ailments: lower back pain, stiff knees, neck and shoulder problems can be addressed through the strengthening and stretching exercises Ma’at Mat offers. By properly engaging the layers of belly muscles and using them as inspiration guided by the breath during the exercises, a sense of miraculous power is achieved.
MEN and WOMEN have benefitted from applying the principles learned in this system. When used in conjunction with other exercise systems, a deeper mind/body/spirit connection is reinforced.

Utilizing her unique practice, MediBellyMove™️, Cashel invites participants to discover & explore the delight of Bellydance in conjunction with the healing power of Reiki.
MediBellyMove™️ is a “fitwell” (fitness + wellness) workshop that celebrates the meeting of mindfulness & fitness, designed to boost your mood, enhance mental clarity & heighten intuitive awareness. Experiencing the absolute joy & sensuality of Bellydance in the process assists the body in utilizing itself as a support to overcome complex feelings & emotions.
3:00PM- 4:00PM- TrapAerobics w/ Chavonne Hodges & Genail McKinley
TrapAerobics is trap, rap and jumping jacks. Join us for an hour of high-energy, 808-thumping dance-based aerobics and cardio conditioning.
4:15PM - 5:15PM - Herbal Steams w/ Moon Mother Apothecary
For centuries, people around the world have utilized herbal steams and baths as traditional, medicinal ritual and practice. Steaming unlocks the antiviral, antiseptic, antimicrobial properties and essential oils contained in plants and helps to facilitate our breathing, relieve congestion, clear our nasal passageways and lungs, and soothe anxiety and stress. In this 1-hour workshop, we will learn how to make a decongestant herbal steam/bath using everyday kitchen ingredients such as basil, rosemary, and lemon.
5:30PM - 6:30PM - Manifesting through Mantras w/ Geminelle Rollins Malone
During this workshop, Geminelle will walk attendees through the process of defining their desires and helping them visualize their intended outcomes. Together we will come up with mantras to live by.
This workshop will conclude with a live performance from my recently released project, “Mantra Loops Vol. 1”.
